The Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology (IIFPT) is a pioneer Research and Educational Institution under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India.

Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology (IIFPT) invites applications from eligible candidates for the following posts to be filled on contract basis:

1. Adjunct Faculty.
2. Project Assistant.
3. Young Professional - II.

4. Scale of PayAdjunct Faculty - Rs. 80,000/- (Consolidated).
                           Project Assistant (Incubation Centre) - Rs. 20,000/- (Consolidated) + 8% HRA.            
                           Young Professional - II - Rs. 25,000/- (Consolidated).

5. Job Type: Contractual.

6. Age LimitAdjunct Faculty - 65 years.
                       Project Assistant (Incubation Centre) - 35 years for men and 40 years for women.                                    Young Professional - II - 35 years for men and 40 years for women.


7. Essential Qualifications
Adjunct Faculty - M.Tech/M.Sc/Ph.D with specialization in Post-Harvest Technology/Food Technology/Food Engineering/Food Science/Food Science and Technology/Food Science and Nutrition or Agricultural Engineering/Biotechnology/Chemical Engineering specialized in Food Process Engineering.
Having Ph.D in the respective disciplines is desirable. 

Project Assistant (Incubation Centre) - B.Tech or B.Sc (4 years' program) in Food Process Engineering/Food Technology/Agricultural Engineering/Food Science/Food Science and Nutrition.
OR
M.Sc in the above related disciplines. 

Young Professional - II - Masters Degree in Food Engineering/Food Science and Technology/Food Technology/Food Process Engineering/Post Harvest Nutrition/Food Science and Nutrition.
Masters Degree in he above subjects - Candidates having Bachelor's Degree in Basic Sciences (3 years) + Masters (2 years) in the above mentioned subjects.
Preference will be given to candidates having proficiency in Punjabi and Hindi language.

8. Experience
Adjunct Faculty - A faculty retired from technical institutions or a person of eminence with a post graduate or Ph.D qualification with a 10-15 years of experience from industry/organization shall satisfy the following norms:
i. Teaching and research organizations of State/Central Govt. Institutions/Universities.
ii. Central and State Public Sector Undertakings (PSU).
iii. Reputed industries.
iv. NRIs and PIOs working with reputed overseas academic, research and industrial organizations or having a demonstrated interest in Indian issues.

The Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology (IIFPT) is a pioneer Research and Educational Institution under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India. Dr. V. Subrahmanyan. an eminent scientist and founder Director, Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysore, after his retirement, started PPRC in 1967 as R & D laboratory in the Modern Rice Mill complex of Thanjavur Co-operative Marketing Federation (TCMF) at Tiruvarur, Tamil Nadu, India.

IIFPT

Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology (IIFPT), formerly Indian Institute of Crop Processing Technology is an education and research institution under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI). IIFPT has a 15-acre campus in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu.


For the first time, IIFPT ranked 74th among engineering institutions by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2020.


Hands-on-training on different food processing technologies, renting facilities and other supports are offered all thought the year to help the entrepreneurs to put in their innovative ideas for the development of new products. IIFPT offers B.Tech., M.Tech. and Ph.D. programs in Food Process Engineering and M.Tech. programs in Food Science and Technology and Ph.D. in Biotechnology.
