Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (inStem) invites Online Applications from eligible and interested candidates for filling up the vacant position of Fellow-E (Scientist-D)- Head, Stem Cell Facility under Scientific Cadre on Direct Recruitment.

3. Location: Bengaluru.

4. Scale of Pay: Level-12in Pay Matrix (as per 7th CPC) and other benefits which include Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance (in lieu of accommodation), Transport Allowance, Children Education Allowance, Leave Travel Concession, Medical Facilities as per Govt. of India Rules. The selected candidate will be covered under National Pension System (NPS).

5. Age Limit: 45 years.

6. Essential Qualifications: Masters in Life Sciences or equivalent. PhD in life sciences or other allied sciences is desirable.

7. Experience: Prior 5 years experience in growing/maintaining human embryonic stem cells (hESC)/induced pluripotent stem cell lines (iPSc) and in developing and maintaining collections of biomaterials in academia or industry.

Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (inStem) is an autonomous Research Institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.


Research at inStem addresses complex problems in areas of cell-differentiation and tissue regeneration using human pluripotent cells, examines clinical manifestations of diseases that can potentially be treated by stem cells, models human diseases using stem cells, uses model organisms to address fundamental questions in regenerative biology, develops platforms to interrogate signaling pathways with new chemical entities, and finally, develops tools that will help to better understand the biology driving stem cells and eventually treat disease states. Research is carried out by groups who work on tightly-knit themes, crossing boundaries and developing new approaches to address questions larger than the expertise of the individual laboratory.

The institute is dedicated to the study of stem cell science and regenerative medicine research. inStem is funded by Department of Biotechnology and well-supported, with access to facilities at both National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) and Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP). Together these three institutions serve as part of the Bangalore Bio-Cluster. 

The institute is also the umbrella organization for three initiatives: inStem itself, the Center for Stem Cell Research (CSCR) located at CMC Vellore, and an Extramural Program in Stem Cell Research (EPiSTEM), a funding initiative for support of stem cell research nationwide.
