7. Essential Qualifications:
Senior Laboratory Assistant (Management Studies) - Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Application with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized
University/ Institute with 05 years relevant experience in the Grade Pay of Rs. 2000 (Level 3 of
Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC) or equivalent.
Senior Laboratory Assistant (Central Workshop) - Three years Diploma in Mechanical/ Production/ Automobiles/ Electrical & Electronics
Engineering (after 10+2) with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized University/Institute
with minimum 03 years relevant experience in the Grade Pay of Rs. 2000 (Level 3 of Pay Matrix
as per 7th CPC) or equivalent.
Senior Laboratory Assistant (Mechanical) - Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent in Mechanical, Aerospace, Production & Industrial,
Mining, Chemical, Mechatronics, Materials with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized
University/ Institute with two years relevant experience in the Grade Pay of Rs. 2000 (Level 3 of
Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC) or equivalent.
OR
Three years Diploma in Engineering/ Applied Science or Electronics or equivalent in Mechanical,
Aerospace, Production & Industrial, Mining, Chemical, Mechatronics, Materials (after 10+2) with a
minimum of 55% marks from a recognized University/Institute with three years relevant experience
in the Grade Pay of Rs. 2000 (Level 3 of Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC) or equivalent.
Senior Laboratory Assistant (Center for Biomedical Engineering) - B.Tech in Engineering/ M.Sc. in Applied Sciences with a minimum of 55% marks from a
recognized University/Institute with more than two years relevant experience (Electrical/
instrumentation/ Computer/ Biomedical Research).
Senior Laboratory Assistant (Computer Services Center) - Master Degree in Science/Computer Science/MCA or B.E/ B.Tech or equivalent qualification
with a minimum of 60% marks from a recognized University/ Institute.
OR
Bachelor’s Degree in Science/ Computer Science/ BCA or equivalent qualification with a
minimum of 60% marks from a recognized University/Institute with 02 years relevant experience
in the Grade Pay of Rs. 2000 (Level 3 of Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC) or equivalent.
OR
Three years Diploma in Engineering / Applied Science or equivalent qualification (after 10+2)
with a minimum of 60% marks from a recognized University/ Institute with 03 years relevant
experience in the Grade Pay of Rs. 2000 (Level 3 of Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC) or equivalent.
Senior Laboratory Assistant (Physics) - Master Degree in Physics/ Applied Physics/ Electronics OR B.E/ B.Tech or equivalent
qualification in Electronics/ Instrumentation with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized
University/Institute.
OR
Bachelor’s Degree in Science (must have Physics or Electronics as a major subject) with a
minimum of 55% marks from a recognized University/ Institute with 02 years relevant
experience in the Grade Pay of Rs. 2000 (Level 3 of Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC) or equivalent.
OR
Three years Diploma in Engineering / Applied Science or equivalent with specialization (if
applicable) in Electronics/ Optics/ Spectroscopy (after 10+2) with a minimum of 55% marks from
a recognized University/Institute with 03 years relevant experience in the Grade Pay of Rs. 2000
(Level 3 of Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC) or equivalent.
Senior Laboratory Assistant (Applied Mechanics) -
Master Degree/ B.E/ B.Tech or equivalent qualification in Mechanical/ Civil/ Aeronautical/
Aerospace Engineering with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized University/Institute.
OR
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/ Civil/ Aeronautical/ Aerospace Engineering with a minimum of
55% marks from a recognized University/ Institute with 02 years relevant experience in the
Grade Pay of Rs. 2000 (Level 3 of Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC) or equivalent.
OR
Three years Diploma in Mechanical/ Civil/ Aeronautical/ Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
(after 10+2) with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized University/Institute with three
years relevant experience in the Grade Pay of Rs. 2000 (Level 3 of Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC)
or equivalent.
Senior Laboratory Assistant (Design) -
Bachelor of Fine Arts/ Design/ Architecture/ Technology/ Engineering in any branch with a minimum
of 55% marks from a recognized University/ Institute with minimum of 01 year relevant experience
in at least one of the following areas:
(i) Proficiency in model making in a variety of materials such as foam, wood, experience of
preparing finished models for including surface finishing methods, painting etc.
(ii) Proficiency in graphic design, animation, video and filmmaking, Image Editing.
(iii) Proficiency in mechanical prototyping and digital fabrication with experience in use of
CAD/CAM Tools/CNC machines/3D printing .
(iv) Proficiency in UI/UX design with programming/coding skills, testing skills and Physiological
measurement equipment handling.
(v) Proficiency in electrical/electronic product design and fabrication using Computer/
microcontrollers, embedded programming, experience with prototyping in IOT.
(vi) Proficiency in using 3D Scanners, AR/ VR technologies and managing computational lab.
OR
Three years Diploma (after 10+2) with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized University/
Institute with minimum of 04 years relevant experience in at least one of the following areas:

qualification in appropriate field with a minimum of 55% marks from recognized University/Institute.
OR
Bachelor’s Degree in Science or equivalent in appropriate field with a minimum of 55% marks from
a recognized University/ Institute with two years relevant experience in the Grade Pay of Rs. 2000
(Level 3 of Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC) or equivalent.
OR
Three years Diploma in Engineering / Applied Science or equivalent in appropriate field (after 10+2)
with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized University/Institute with three years relevant
experience in the Grade Pay of Rs. 2000 (Level 3 of Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC) or equivalent.
Junior Assistant (Accounts) -
i. B.Com or equivalent qualification from recognized university with at least 55% marks.
ii. Proficiency in Accounting Software like Tally, Pay Roll Accounting, e-TDS etc.
iii. Proficiency in typing in English / Hindi on computer and also in the use of a variety of computer
office applications like M.S Word, Excel, Power-point or equivalent is a must.
Having typing speed of 40 w.p.m. / 35 w.p.m. in English and Hindi respectively on computer is desirable.
Junior Technical Superintendent -
Master Degree in Science/Computer Science or B.E/ B.Tech with a minimum of 55% marks
from a recognized University/ Institute with one year relevant experience in the Grade Pay of
Rs. 2800 or equivalent.
OR
Bachelor’s Degree in Science/ Computer Science with a minimum of 55% marks from a
recognized University/Institute with three years relevant experience in the Grade Pay of Rs.
2800 or equivalent.
OR
Three years Diploma in Engineering (after 10+2) with a minimum of 55% marks from a
recognized University/ Institute with four years relevant experience in the Grade Pay of Rs.
2800 or equivalent.
Library Information Assistant -
M.Lib.Sc. / MLISc or equivalent from recognized University/Institute with at least 55% marks.
OR
Master’s Degree in Arts / Science / Commerce or any other discipline and also B.Lib.Sc. / BLISc
with at least 55% marks from recognized University/ Institute.
Knowledge of Library Automation activities is desirable.
8. Desirable Qualifications: Proficiency in the use of a variety of computer office applications, M.S Word, Excel, Power-point
or equivalent is desirable for all posts.
9. Experience:
Senior Laboratory Assistant (Center of Atmospheric Sciences) -
For the 02 SLA positions for computing laboratories: “At least one year experience in Systems
Administration, UNIX/LINUX, Programming in C, C++, and Fortran”.
(ii) and/or at least one year
experience/exposure of working in instrumental laboratories.
(ii) For the 01 SLA position for atmospheric instrumentation lab: At least one year experience in
handling atmospheric and/or air pollution equipments.
Junior Assistant (Accounts) -
One year relevant experience in Finance / Accounts is desirable.
Library Information Assistant -
At least 01 year working experience in a reputed library.

IIT Delhi Recruitment: Posts of Non-Academic Staff
Indian Institute of Technology Delhi is one of the 23 IITs created to be Centres of Excellence for training, research and development in science, engineering and technology in India.
Established as College of Engineering in 1961, the Institute was later declared as an Institution of National Importance under the “Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 1963” and was renamed as “Indian Institute of Technology Delhi”. It was then accorded the status of a Deemed University with powers to decide its own academic policy, to conduct its own examinations, and to award its own degrees.
Since its inception, over 48000 have graduated from IIT Delhi in various disciplines including Engineering, Physical Sciences, Management and Humanities & Social Sciences. Of these, nearly 5070 received Ph.D. degrees.
The number of students who graduated with B.Tech. degree is over 15738. The rest obtained Master’s Degree in Engineering, Sciences and Business Administration. These alumni today work as scientists, technologists, business managers and entrepreneurs.
There are several alumni who have moved away from their original disciplines and have taken to administrative services, active politics or are with NGOs. In doing so, they have contributed significantly to building of this nation, and to industrialization around the world.
